Breeze Through Baja with Open-Face Helmets
If you prefer wind in your face and maximum cockpit awareness, an open-face lid is the go-to choice for preruns, play days, and parade laps. Our Open-Face Helmets collection gathers lightweight SA2020 and ECE 22.06 shells from
Impact®, Pyrotect®, HJC®, and Simpson®. Each comes pre-drilled for HANS anchors, molded for 32 mm speakers, and fitted with fire-retardant Comfort-Tech liners so you stay cool and compliant without the heft of a full rally bucket.
Hero Models
- Impact Classic Carbon – 2.5 lb carbon shell, optional snap-on peak visor, and Kevlar chin strap.
- Pyrotect ProAirflow OF – Tri-weave shell, six-port brow intake, plus replaceable 10–35 mm cheek pads.
- HJC AR10 III Open-Face – ECE 22.06, ultra-wide eye-port for XL goggles, speaker recesses, and anti-scratch coating.
- Simpson M50 Retro – Classic 1970s desert-sled look with modern SA2020 internals and removable peak.
Why Open-Face?
Unbeatable Visibility: spot rocks, whoops, and side-by-side traffic in your peripheral vision.
Superior Ventilation: direct airflow to face and chin reduces sweat on long preruns.
Easy Comms Integration: boom mics and hydration tubes slide in without visor interference.
Comms & Hydration Ready
All helmets include molded speaker pockets and boom-mic slots. Add a helmet wiring kit for plug-and-race comms, or install a side-port hydration bulkhead in under five minutes—no shell drilling required.
Fit & Sizing Cheat-Sheet
Oval heads: Impact Classic, HJC AR10 III
Round heads: Pyrotect ProAirflow OF, Simpson M50
Measure brow circumference; if between sizes, choose the larger shell and fine-tune with pad thickness.
Quick Setup Tips
- Heat-cycle cushions once—wear the helmet 30 min at home to seat the liner before race day.
- Install a dust skirt if running windshield-less; it drops cockpit silt and boom-mic static.
- Snap on a tinted peak visor for sunrise preruns to cut glare without goggles.
Safety & Service Life
Open-face helmets meet the same roll-over impact tests as full-face models. Replace any lid after a shell-flexing hit or five seasons of hard use. All inventory here is stamped within the last 24 months, ensuring a full lifecycle before the next spec update.
