Lightweight PlayCar & Prerunner Helmets
When you’re scouting race lines, chasing with friends, or ripping a weekend fun run down Old Puertocitos Road, you need head protection that’s rugged but not as heavy as full rally kit. Our PlayCar / Prerun Helmets collection delivers mid-weight SA2020–rated and ECE 22.06–approved lids designed for all-day comfort, stellar ventilation, and easy comm integration. From open-face classics to visor-ready full-face shells, each model weighs under 3.4 lb and ships hydr-port ready.
Featured Lids
- Impact Classic Open-Face Carbon — 2.5 lb carbon shell, foam peak visor, perfect for breeze-seeking playcar drivers.
- Pyrotect Prerun Full-Face — 3.2 lb tri-weave shell with four-port brow intake and wide goggle eye-port.
- Stilo ST5 GT Composite — FIA 8859, short sun peak, integrated earmuff recesses, and side drink port flat.
- HJC i50 Baja Edition — ECE 22.06, MX-style peak, extended chin bar, speaker pockets for 32 mm drivers.
Baja-Proof Comfort
Multi-density EPS pairs with Cool-Dry liners that wick sweat on 110 °F pre-runs. Shells use Kevlar or carbon-blend resins to cut weight yet keep flex margins for repeated prerun chatter bumps. All visors are anti-scratch polycarbonate with fog-resist inner layers, so morning humidity or silt storms never cloud your view.
Comms Ready
Every helmet sports molded speaker pockets, boom-mic slots, and grommet flats for hydration or air pumper fittings. Pair with a helmet wiring kit or hydration port in minutes—no drilling EPS.
Fit & Sizing
Oval heads: Impact Classic, HJC i50
Round heads: Stilo ST5 GT
Intermediate: Pyrotect Prerun
Measure brow circumference; if between sizes, choose the larger shell and fine-tune with cheek pads.
Setup Hacks
- Run 20 mm cheek pads on mic-boom side, 25 mm opposite to bring the capsule within 10 mm of lips.
- Warm visor hinges with a heat gun for 5 s to seat O-rings—kills fog on dawn preruns.
- Add a dust skirt if your prerunner lacks a windshield; it drops silt inhalation and mic static.
Why Upgrade?
PlayCar helmets bridge the gap between casual MX lids and full rally shells—lighter, better vented, and ready for comms out of the box. Upgrade once, ride comfortable all weekend, and keep your head in race-ready condition for the big day.
