Pure Performance: Unwired Helmets
Sometimes you want a helmet that’s just a helmet—no comm leads, no boom-mic cut-outs, no extra snag points. Our Unwired Helmets collection strips things back to the essentials: impact protection, ventilation, and feather-light weight. These SA2020- and ECE 22.06-certified lids arrive as blank canvases, ready for your custom wiring kit—or to run cable-free on fun runs, track days, and practice laps.
Who Buys Unwired?
- Solo Drivers who rely on handheld Bluetooth radios or do all their training off-comms.
- Fabricators & Teams that install their own avionics harnesses and want a fresh, untouched shell.
- Dual-Purpose Riders who swap between desert racing and moto trail rides.
Featured Shells
- Impact Air Draft Lightweight — 2.9 lb composite shell, 360° vent ring, blank cheek foam.
- Pyrotect ProAirflow Carbon — 1,200 g carbon/aramid matrix, 6-port brow intake, uncut liner.
- Bell M8 Carbon “Bare” — SA2020, wide eye-port, no speaker recesses—perfect for earbud users.
- Stilo ST5 GT Naked — FIA 8859, raw 3 K twill, hydration flats molded but un-drilled.
Advantages of a Clean Shell
Full Liner Integrity — No pre-molded cavities means more EPS in the impact zone.
Weight Savings — Ditch speakers and wiring, save 80–140 g at the top of your CG.
Customization Freedom — Add any wiring kit or run Bluetooth earbuds—it’s your call.
Fit & Sizing
Oval heads: Impact Air Draft, Bell M8
Round heads: Stilo ST5 GT, Pyrotect Carbon
Measure brow circumference; if you straddle sizes, order the larger shell and swap in 5 mm thicker cheek pads for a race-tight fit.
Quick DIY Wiring Tips
- Use a soldering iron on low heat to pierce liner for the mic boom—never cut EPS with a knife.
- Route speaker leads in a shallow “S” so they flex with cheek-pad removal.
- Seal any drill holes with a dab of clear RTV to keep dust out.
Helmet Care
Hand-wash liners in baby-shampoo, air-dry out of direct sun, and store helmets on their side—not upside down—to avoid compressing brow foam. Replace after any shell-flexing hit or five seasons of heavy racing.
