Lock It Down with Communication Mounting Solutions
Coil cords, radio chassis, and GPS screens survive Baja only if you bolt them to something that won’t flex, crack, or rattle loose. Our Communication Mounting Solutions collection assembles every billet clamp, faceplate, RAM ball, and quick-release plate you need to turn a wiring diagram into a vibration-proof cockpit. Each component is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminum or high-impact glass-filled nylon, hard-anodized or powder-coated, and tested for 150 lb pull-out so nothing goes airborne when the rear end swaps in the whoops.
Core Mounts & Hardware
- Billet Tube Clamps – Hinged 1.5″, 1.75″, and 2.0″ cage clamps with ¼-20 and M5 threaded faces for intercoms, radios, or action-cam bases.
- RAM 1″ Ball Double-Socket Arm – All-alloy arm locks a Lowrance HDS or tablet in any position; rubber isolator cuts high-freq buzz.
- Universal Intercom Faceplate – Laser-cut alloy plate with countersunk screws—flush-mounts Elite or Trax intercoms to aluminum dashes.
- Quick-Release Swivel Base – Pull a spring pin and move your GPS from race truck to chase truck in 15 seconds.
- Surface-Mount Antenna Plate – ⅛″ aluminum with PEM nuts spreads stress across thin roof skins; pre-drilled NMO hole.
- Action-Cam Cage Mount – Captive T-slot grabs GoPro housing 20 % tighter than OEM plastic; no lost footage in silt whoops.
Desert-Proven Advantages
Dual-Durometer Isolation — Integrated EPDM pads absorb 80 % of vibration above 400 Hz, extending electronics life.
Grade-8 / A4-70 Hardware — Torx or hex cap screws won’t strip after a season of salt fog.
Hard-Anodized Finishes — 60 µm layer fights galvanic corrosion where billet meets chromoly tube.
Fitment Map
GPS / Nav: Lowrance HDS LIVE/Elite FS, Garmin Tread, Magellan TRX7
Radios: Kenwood TK-7360, Icom F5021, Motorola CM300
Intercoms: PCI Elite / Trax, Comlink RTX, Rugged M1 (faceplate holes pre-indexed)
Cameras: GoPro HERO12, Insta360 ONE X3, DJI Action 4
Install Tips
- Apply blue Loctite to faceplate screws; red only on set-screws you never intend to remove.
- Ground radio and intercom chassis to the same star ground to prevent alternator hum.
- Route antenna coax away from injector harnesses—cross at 90 ° if necessary.
Pro-Level Hack
Pair a quick-release RAM ball with a spare ball stub in the chase truck. Pop the GPS out of the race car during driver changes and review fresh course notes in the chase cab—no extra screen required.
Future-Proof Finish
All mounts use industry-standard thread sizes and ball diameters, so you can swap from a 7″ display today to a 12″ tomorrow without buying new clamps. Bolt once, race forever.
