How much does Zello cost? There is a free app available if you want to try it out. We recommend Zello work for the added features (See below). The Work app costs $8 per user per month for a monthly plan and $6.80 per month per user if you opt for an annual plan.
What's the difference between the Zello free version and Zello Work? Zello free is available for non-commercial use. We recommend Zello work for a few reasons. Zello work has a dedicated server for reliable communication during racing. The free app could be affected by peak usage and become unpredictable. The management console is easy to use allowing you to add or remove users and set up multiple channels. This is ideal for setting up a race channel and a chase channel for non critical messages you don't want the race car to hear. Zello work has a LMR integration as we design radios to work over the app, this interface isn't available on the free app. The Zello Work Management Console offers a real-time mapping feature that displays a user's current location on OpenStreetMap, device battery level, and speed of travel. Another big bonus of Zello Work is the cross link feature. If you are racing with another team for a race, you can connect your work accounts via crosslink just for a race and add the other team to a mutual channel or add them to your channel for the event.
Does Zello work on iPhone and Android? Yes, Zello apps work on iPhone and Android.
Does Zello have a range limitation? No, Zello will work anywhere you have internet and thanks to Starlink, that's just about everywhere! Keep in mind if you are in heavy tree coverage you may lose internet connectivity and therefore your Zello connection.
