The Kid in 57

Glen Helen, 2020. A 170 rattles down the hill, a kid at the wheel, and when the season is over they hand him a championship plate. His name is TJ Siewers. He is ten years old.

That fall he does it again, a different kind of race: Short-Course Youth 170 at the UTV World Championships in Lake Havasu. Same year, Payson — AZOP, a 570, overall. In between, the West Coast weekends that actually raise a racer: AZOP Grand Prixs, WORCS, cedar and catch fence and a number he already likes. 57.

He is sixteen now. The car is a Polaris RZR in Championship Off-Road Pro Stock SxS. The number on the door has not changed. Follow him at @tjracing101. If you see 57 in the land-rush, that is the kid from Glen Helen. He grew up. The racing did not get easier. He just got in a bigger car.

Baja Racing Gear is a proud sponsor of TJ Racing.
